CURRICULUM
At New Harvest Child Care Center, every day is an opportunity to enrich and stimulate your child to learn. Through the exploration of plans and possibilities, we create an environment that encourages children to focus on the process and not the product. At New Harvest, we don’t want children to stay in the lines; we encourage them to create the lines.
The school’s framework includes a monthly theme, virtue, bible verse, color and shape and age appropriate language arts, math and science concepts. The virtue and bible verse is aligned with New Harvest Sunday School program to reinforce the message for those children who do attend New Harvest Church.
Most children, who attend preschool at New Harvest Child Care Center, will be enrolling in kindergarten in the Clovis Unified School District. Our curriculum is designed to prepare them for that transition. Therefore all pre-kindergarten students will be evaluated on skills needed for entrance into kindergarten.
We welcome and encourage parent participation and input with regards to the lesson plans created for their children. We believe that the New Harvest Child Care Center is such an important part of each child’s life, that the school and staff are an extended family component for these children. As such, input from all family members, especially the parents is vital in creating an experience that is fulfilling for everyone.
The infant/toddler curriculum is based on their routines to provide them with a stable, loving environment. However, we will provide activities that will stimulate their imagination and encourage their creativity.
