Sermon Series: Draw Near (September 21, 2008 - October 26, 2008)
The book of Hebrews offers a glorious picture of Jesus Christ, in the splendor of His manhood and in all the majesty of His deity. With all of the mystery surrounding the book’s author, to whom the letter was written and when it was written-it’s no wonder that Hebrews was a late addition to the Canon. Commentator William Barclay writes, "Greeks…You are looking for the way from the shadows to reality; you will find it in Jesus Christ. Jews…You are looking for the perfect sacrifice which will open the way to God which your sins have closed; you will find it in Jesus Christ." Ultimately, Hebrews calls all people to draw near to God.
